Calvary Baptist Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ by means of the Word of God that challenges & changes minds & lives & the caring interaction of the church community that edifies & encourages people to follow Christ & serve Him fully.
To this end our church gathers for times of Biblical instruction, Christian fellowship, interactive study, & prayer such as Sunday School, Sunday Morning Worship, weekly Bible Studies, & Mid-week Prayer Meeting.
Children’s Ministries: Because we believe that children need Biblical instruction from an early age & benefit greatly from Biblical instruction on their level we provide Sunday School classes for all ages. We also provide Nursery for our services so that parents can focus on Biblical learning & worship. In addition, we have a kids club that meets every other Sunday night to disciple children in in the basics of the Christian faith, help them memorize the Bible, and teach them to daily spend time with God.
Youth Ministries: The Youth meet every other week & have opportunities for a variety of monthly activities for service, outreach, & fellowship.
Adult Sunday School: Adults also meet Sundays at 9:30 AM for Biblical instruction & discussion on a variety of topics & books of the Bible relevant to life.
Worship Service: Sundays at 10:45 AM we gather to praise God for who He is & what He has done for us and instruct each other through reverent, meaningful words & music. As part of our worship we also express to God our realization that He has given us all that we have & express our thanks by giving part of our money back to Him to be used for His work. Finally the majority of our time is dedicated to the preaching & teaching of the Word of God as the means that the Holy Spirit uses to transform our minds & thereby our lives.
Bible Studies: To provide opportunities for spiritual growth & outreach we have interactive weekly Bible Studies that meet throughout the week in various geographical locations, mostly in homes, with a Men’s Bible Study on Tuesday mornings at Calvary Baptist Church.
Prayer Meeting: Wednesdays at 7 PM we gather for a time of encouragement & challenge in the middle of our week. But, our primary focus is to thank God for who He is & what He has done for us & ask Him to work in our lives & in the lives of others.
Fellowships: At least once a month we get together for interaction usually involving food & fun either as carry-in-dinners after the Sunday AM Worship or special events like our Easter Breakfast, Annual Parsonage Picnic, or Hickory Hills Outdoor Church Service & Picnic.
